Catherine M. Gleason
Catherine M. Gleason, 95, of N. Whitehall Rd, West Norriton Township, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, in her residence. She was the widow of F. Edgar Gleason who died January 23, 2002.
Born in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary A. (Gilligan) Pastorius. She was a member of Visitation Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Trooper. She worked as a secretary in a law office in Philadelphia for several years. She was a homemaker, avid knitter, and volunteered for 19 years at the Montgomery Hospital, Norristown during the 1970’s and 80’s. She was a 1924 graduate of the former St. Patrick’s High School, Norristown and the Pierce Business College, Philadelphia.
She is survived by Sons, F. Edgar “Jerry”, Washington, D.C., Richard M., Oakland, CA, J. Thomas, Bossier City, LA, Edward M., Madison, WI, Robert A., Elkins Park, and Rev. Fr. Laurence J., of St. Lukes R.C. Church, Glenside; Daughters, Mary Ann (Gleason) Travitzky, Audubon, and Eileen M. Gleason; 27 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren, 1 Niece and several nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, April 01, 2005 at 11:00 AM, Visitation BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Norristown. Interment in St. Patrick’s R.C. Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions to the Capitol Fund of BVM Church, 196 N. Trooper Rd., Norristown, 19403. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
