Donald R. Peters

Donald R. Peters, age 65, of 262 Church Road (Maxatawny Twp.), Kutztown, PA, died Friday, June 6, 2003, in his home. He was the Husband of the late Dianne V. (Kressley) Peters who died September 26, 1997.

Born in Fogelsville (Upper Macungie Twp.), Lehigh County, PA, he was the Son of the the late Russell N. and the late Laura M. (Wertman) Peters. He was a member of U.C.C. Congregation of Zion's Union Church, Maxatawny, PA where he served on Consistory and was on the cemetery board. He was the owner and operator of County Line Disposal Company, Kutztown from 1979 to 1999. Previously he was a butcher for Arbogast and Bastian Meat Packing, Allentown from 1959 to 1979. He served in the Marines during peacetime, was a member of Kutztown Rod and Gun Club and received the Presidential Award for the Optimist of the Year in 2000.

He is survived by Sisters, Roma (Peters) Sell of New Tripoli, PA and Jean (Peters) Kemp of Lyons, PA; Daughters, Cindy A. (Peters) O'Neil of Kutztown, PA and Julie A. (Peters) Karaisz of Kutztown, PA; and 2 Grandchildren.

Funeral Services Wednesday, June 11, 2003, at 11:30 AM from Zion's U.C.C. Church, Church Road, Maxatawny, PA. Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, (Maxatawny Twp.) Kutztown, PA. Friends may call Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the church.
