Grace A. Kern
Grace A. Kern, 78, of Quarry Road, Maxatawny Twp., died Saturday, September 16, 2006 in her residence.
Born in Maxatawny Twp., Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Philip M. and Ellen J. (Leibensperger) Mertz. She worked for 11 years as a waitress for the former Pied Piper Diner, Trexlertown. She was a member of Zion’s Union Church, Lutheran Congregation, Maxatawny Twp.
She is survived by Daughters, Susan K. wife of Steven P Fordyce, Mertztown, PA, Janet E. wife of Charles Goheen, Athol, MA, Jean M. wife of Charles A. Ohlinger, Mertztown, PA.; Sister, Donna L. wife of Randy A. Bailey, Kutztown, PA,; Brother John P. Mertz, Kutztown, PA. In addition she is survived by four grandchildren, and one great-grandson. She was predeceased by her daughter Judith A. Stopp in 1979, and a brother Harold D. Mertz in 1965.
Services are Private, at the convenience of the family.
The family requests contributions to the Lutheran Congregation of Zion’s Union Church, P.O. Box 100, Maxatawny, PA 19538. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
