Herbert J. Kistler
Herbert J. Kistler, 90, of Kutztown, died Monday, November 23, 2009 in the Laurel Center, Hamburg. He was the husband of Florence M. (Seidel) Kistler. They were married on November 6, 1943.
Born in Greenwich Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Herbert C. and Murcy B. (Snyder) Kistler. He was a member of New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, Lenhartsville. He was a farmer until 1960; then a carpenter for various contractors from 1960 until 1980. He was an avid woodworker.
He is survived by Wife; Son, Roy J. husband of Susan J. (Zettlemoyer) Kistler, Lenhartsville; Daughter, Regina D. (Kistler) wife of Allen C. Kerchner, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County; Sisters, Geneva L. (Kistler) widow of Frank Hasik, Kutztown, Ruth (Kistler) wife of Harold Fegley, Fleetwood; Grandchildren, Jane A. Rumsey, Philip L. Kerchner, Brock L. Kerchner, Karissa D. Kerchner, Dana L. Kerchner; Great Grandchildren, Remington M. Kistler, Gabriella A. Kerchner and Lillith A. Murdock; Step Great Grandson, Kyle Seybert. He was predeceased by Grandson, Richard C. Kistler in 2004.
Funeral Services are Friday, November 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.
The family requests contributions to the New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, 1456 Krumsville Road, Lenhartsville, PA 19534. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
