Hiram L. Meals
Hiram L. “Bud” Meals, 88, of Fair Oaks, CA, formerly of Moselem died Tuesday, October 23, 2007 in Mercy San Juan Hospital where he had been a patient since October 9, 2007. He was the husband of Ruth C. (Young) Meals. His first wife, Loretta A. (Schaeffer) Meals died on August 31, 1978.
Born in Richmond Township, Berks County, he was the son of the late Charles O. and Edith I. (Johnson) Meals. He was a stacker for the former Prestolite Battery, Temple, for 30 years retiring in the early 1980’s. He was a member of the Kutztown, Virginville and Fleetwood Fire Companies. He was a former member of Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Fleetwood.
He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Doris A. (Meals) widow of John E. Kutz, Jr.; Son, Terry L. husband of Donna J. (Shaver) Meals, both of Kutztown; Stepsons, Jim Ludwig, Alburn, CA, Dennis Ludwig, Sr., Carmichael, CA; Step Daughter, Linda Faloon, Sacramento, CA; Brothers, Earl Meals, Blandon, Paul Meals, Simpsonville, SC; Grandchildren, James, Thomas, Kristel, Lori, David, Sr., Allen, Faith, Hope, and Charity; Great Grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Danielle, Amanda, Christian, Dawson, Kristy, Shannon, Megan, Brittany, David, Jr. and Rebecca; Great Great Grandchildren, Frank and Rachel. He was predeceased by a Son, Kenneth R. Meals who died in 2001.
Graveside Services are Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in Becker’s St. Peter’s Cemetery, 265 Maidencreek Road, Fleetwood. There are no public calling hours.
