LEORA M. (SCHLEGEL) HAAS, a resident of Maxatawny Township, is a 1968 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School in Topton, PA and a 1972 graduate of Kutztown University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. She is the daughter of the late Grant O. “Buddy” and Mae M. (Pauley) Schlegel and grew up in the Village of Freehall, Longswamp Township.
Leora’s professional career was in the medical sales and management industry spanning from 1984 until her retirement in 2018. Throughout her career, Leora sold a variety of medical products, devices and services. The majority of those years were served in the pharmaceutical industry as a District Sales Manager followed by a Manager of Employment Engagement and Retention for Mission Pharmacal, San Antonio, TX.
Leora is the widow of David J. Haas to who she was married for 43 years prior to his passing in 2015. She has a daughter Laura, and a son, Nick, husband of Kate (Scholl), and five grandchildren, Adisyn, Canaan, Kaylee, Davin and Connor.
Leora is enjoying retirement by spending quality time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities. She is a member of Zion’s Union Church of Maxatawny and enjoys adventures with her friends by going to theatre, concerts, dinners, and traveling. Leora has been a member of the funeral home staff since 2023.
